Cathy Clark |
President
Cathy Clark is a lifelong resident of Marion County. Her love and interest in improving the community is a passion of hers. Cathy and her husband, Jim, own two businesses--Clark Lawn Service since 1972 and Re-Power! Outdoor Equipment Sales and Service. Cathy's son, Ryan, is a graduate of ASU in Phoenix, AZ, with a degree in Golf Course Management.
Cathy is a past President of the Indiana Professional Lawn & Landscape Association and is actively involved in the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, the E. 38th St. Neighborhood Association, and is Chairman of the Board of Glendale Christian Church.
Her other interests include snow skiing, volleyball, competitive bowling, and tending to her three blue-eyed Siberian Huskies. A quote that best describes her is: "If you aren't happy, get busy and make a difference."

John Ball |
Vice President
John Ball, Director of Safety & Security for Pacers Sports & Entertainment, is a resident of Franklin Township who retired from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) following a 20-plus year career. He also is a former Marion County Director of Emergency Management. |

Beth Carver |
Secretary
Beth Carver currently manages the Beech Grove, Indiana PNC Branch, having joined PNC through the National City integration. Her 15 years of combined experience include time spent as a teller, assistant branch manager and now manager for the past eleven years.
Married, with two grown children and two grandchildren, Beth enjoys family time activities, swimming, antiques, scrapbooking and is an avid postcard collector. Her volunteer history includes serving as Garfield Christian Church Youth Librarian, two years as activities coordinator for Beech Grove Relay for Life, two years as Treasurer for Fountain Square Merchants Association, three years as Treasurer for NESCO, where she also served as a committee chair person to return Feast of Lanterns to the Indianapolis Eastside in 2003 and she currently serves as Vice President of the Beech Grove Friends of the Library Board. |

Joe Goins, Sr. |
Treasurer
Joe Goins, Sr., has been married 39 years to wife Wanda and is the father of three daughters and one son. He is grandfather to seven grandsons and three granddaughters. Joe has lived in Decatur Township most of his life. He raised and showed Southdown sheep in 4-H as a child.
Joe has been employed at IUPUI for the past 32 years. He has been a 4-H leader for 27 years. Prior to being a Board member he served as the Marion County Fair's Sheep Superintendent for 22 years. He has been the Breed Manager for Southdown at the Indiana State Fair for the past 16 years.
Joe has been a member of the Decatur Central Lions Club (Past President) for twelve years and a member of the Marion County Extension (Past President) for eleven years. |

Ron Phillips |
Immediate Past President
Ron Phillips is married to Gloria and has two sons, Ben and Drew, and a daughter, Emily. He is a representative with Western-Southern Financial with 35 years of service with them. He is an active member of Old Bethel UMC, involved in Warren Township Schools, a Founder of Dads of Warren Central, and is instrumental in other areas regarding fathers. He was the recipient of the Mayor's Volunteer Partnership Award in 1999.

The Board

Gary BraVard |
From a start at Shapiro's Delicatessen at the tender age of 16, to tap dancing and acting in Hollywood, to stints at Tavern on the Green in New York City and Le Cafe du Boujelous in Ft. Lauderdale, Gary returned to Indianapolis in the 80s to become one of the city's pioneers in special event planning, propelling him into a fast-paced food and entertainment career spanning four decades. Gary is the recipient of the internationally acclaimed Gala Award for event planning.
Now favoring long walks and a quieter, more reflective lifestyle, Gary has taken culinary (and otherwise!) tours of Europe the last couple of years. His favorite city is Rome. Always a hard worker and enthusiastic in his pursuits, Gary continues to work in the special event and party business in Marion County. Additionally, he spends countless hours each month doing volunteer work.
Gary will be responsible for the Family Arts, 4-H and Arts & Crafts buildings, as well as the VIP Party at the 2012 Fair. |

Don Glowinski |
Don Glowinski is married to Cheryl DeVol/Glowinski and they have 5 children, Anna, Donnie, Sam, Ben and Maggie. Occupation: Owner OF DP Mechanical Services, LLC., a family owned mechanical contracting business. He graduated from Southport High School 1979, is a Member of Holy Name Catholic Church, the Indianapolis Zoo, the Indianapolis Children's Museum, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
Don is also in charge of both the 4-H and Open Class Poultry exhibits and is the Poultry Superintendent for Marion County. |

Jack Haefling |
Jack, Ohio native, grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana from the age of 5 until his teenage years, when he then moved with family to Sullivan, Indiana where he graduated from Sullivan High School. He first spent his college years at Vincennes University and ended up at Indiana State University (ISU).
While attending ISU, Jack took part-time employment at United Parcel Service (UPS) to help pay for college. After college, he transferred to the Indianapolis UPS facility and stayed with them for the next 30 years, retiring at the age of 50.
Jack has had extensive involvement in community and agricultural organizations, serving on the boards of many. He is Founder & President of Global Energy Efficiency Group, a young company with global reach into heavy-duty industrial electrical energy efficiency including power factor correction, peak demand shaving and reps for In-Sync Lighting. |

John Koss |
John Koss is a lifelong resident of Irvington, and spent 28 years with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, three years with the Excise Police and has served as the Constable in Warren Township. John currently works as an investigator for the Marion County Prosecutor. He is a lifetime member of the Irvington Historical Society, and a member of the Masons and Scottish Rite. John also is a runner and participates in the Pleasant Run Run each year. He also enjoys riding his motorcycle. |

Keith Smith |
Keith Smith has been a Franklin Township resident for more than 35 years. His wife Cindy is a lifelong Franklin Township resident, and they both have two grown children who are Franklin Central graduates. His daughter got him involved in 4-H at the Marion County Fair many years ago, and they have attended the fair ever since.
In 2000, Keith retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department after serving 38 years as Indianapolis Fire Chief. He was then asked to serve as the Fire Chief in Westfield, Indiana and after 4 years there, was asked to serve as the Carmel Fire Chief. After 6 years at his current job, he is ready to retire again in 2013.
He and his wife enjoy traveling, working in their yard and spending time with their golden retriever dog, Buddy.
Keith is a graduate of Indiana University and the National Fire Academy.

Clifford "Cookie" Kight |
Clifford "Cookie" Kight is a lifelong Franklin Township resident. He graduated from Franklin Central High School in 1975. He has a large close-knit family who all still get together once a week for a big family dinner. He is a proud father and grandfather.
Shortly after graduating high school, Cookie opened Cookie's Body Shop in Acton in April of 1976. It is a family owned and operated business.
Cookie is also a Franklin Township Civic League quad representative as well as a Mason at Pleasant Lodge 134. For the past seven years, he has been one of several people who have helped put on an annual community Memorial Day Parade that ends at Acton Cemetery for the Memorial Day Service. He takes great pride in his community and loves what he does.
Cookie also has a love for old cars from the 1915 Ford Model-T to 1959 Chevys. In his spare time, he enjoys restoring old cars, as well as antiques.

Dave Carter |
Dave is a lifelong resident of Indiana. He was born and raised on the Indy's westside, where he and Brenda, wife of 29 years, reside. They met at Ball State and spent a few years in Muncie before settling into their current home. Dave has served as Director of Wayne Township 4-H for the last nine years and has volunteered with 4-H for over 15 years. He is a member of the Marion County 4-H Advisory Board and the Marion County Extension Board. He recently finished his first year working for Fed Ex Express at the Indy Hub.
Dave is a member of Ben Davis Lions Club and on the Board of Trustees for Lions 25f, Camp WoodSmoke, near Greensburg. He is a member of Garden City Christian Church (DOC) and plays in the praise band at Church of the Master. He is a fill-in Bass player whenever the Ben Davis Choirs need him, having begun when his daughter, Allison, was a member. He was a band parent and in attendance when son, Matthew, marched at Tournament of Roses. He is also known to substitute teach in the Area 31 Career Center at Ben Davis.
Dave's favorite avocation is officiating football. He manages to get in about 70 games a year, from youth and flag leagues to semi-pros. He has worked the last 12 IHSAA tournaments. This all leaves just a bit of time to do some grill cooking, gardening or walking the three Jack Russells that complete the family.
